Conflict Resolution Training FOR TEAMS

CONFLICT RESOLUTION TEAM TRAINING
Most workplace conflict does not start as a dramatic confrontation.
It starts as a misunderstanding that goes unaddressed, a frustration that gets expressed sideways, or a difference in working style that nobody names directly. Left unmanaged, these small frictions compound – eroding trust, damaging collaboration, and eventually forcing a formal HR process that everyone would rather have avoided.
The Conflict Resolution Training at EdgeMind Solutions is designed to intervene before that point.
Built on the BEAT™ (Beck Emotional Access Technique®) framework and grounded in current neuroscience and behavioral psychology, this program gives teams and managers the skills to identify conflict early, understand what is actually driving it, and resolve it constructively – turning what might otherwise become a destructive dynamic into an opportunity for stronger communication and more resilient working relationships.
Every program begins with a pre-training consultation to understand your team’s specific conflict patterns, communication dynamics, and the cultural context in which conflicts arise. The training is tailored accordingly.
Our groups are intentionally capped at 8 participants to ensure every individual receives the focused, personalised attention that produces real, lasting change in how they approach conflict.
How Conflict Resolution Training impacts your team
confidence in resolution
Participants develop the confidence to address conflicts promptly and professionally - before they escalate into formal processes or permanent damage to working relationships. The skills built in this training give managers and team members a genuine alternative to avoidance.
Understand Conflict Styles
Different people experience and express conflict differently. Participants develop a clear understanding of different conflict styles and how to adapt their approach to the person and situation in front of them - rather than applying a single technique that works for some situations and inflames others.
Precision Communication
The training develops strong communication and negotiation skills specifically designed for conflict contexts -- including how to manage emotional state, avoid escalation, and find the language that opens conversations rather than closing them down.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION TRAINING
By the end of this program, participants will:
- Address conflicts promptly and professionally — with confidence rather than avoidance
- Understand different conflict styles and adapt their approach to each situation
- Apply strong communication and negotiation skills in conflict contexts
- Manage their own emotional state during difficult conversations — maintaining composure under pressure
- Build more resilient and cohesive teams through effective dispute management
- Implement conflict resolution processes that become part of the team’s culture rather than a one-off intervention
How does the Conflict Resolution Training work?
This program is built on the BEAT™ framework – a neuroscience-informed methodology developed by Fay Beck that addresses the emotional and behavioral dynamics that drive conflict, alongside the practical skills for resolving it.
Most conflict resolution training teaches techniques – active listening, de-escalation scripts, mediation frameworks. These are useful. But they miss the most important variable: the internal state of the person attempting to resolve the conflict. A manager who enters a difficult conversation with unmanaged anxiety, defensiveness, or frustration will undermine even the most technically correct approach.
BEAT™ addresses this directly. By developing genuine emotional awareness and behavioral control, participants build the internal capability to enter conflict situations with composure, clarity, and the presence needed to conduct conversations that actually resolve rather than escalate.

FAQs
Will the course be specifically designed for my organisation?
Yes. Once we receive a booking, we reach out to organise a pre-training consultation. We use that consultation to understand your team’s specific conflict patterns, communication dynamics, and the cultural context in which conflicts arise – and adjust the program accordingly. No two programs are delivered identically.
How many hours is each training day?
Each training day runs for 8 hours and includes breaks totalling 1 hour – giving 7 hours of active training time per day.
Why are groups capped at 8 participants?
We cap group sizes at 8 to ensure every participant receives focused attention and genuine personalised feedback throughout the programme. Larger groups dilute the hands-on, behavioural work that makes BEAT™ training effective. This is a deliberate quality decision, not a capacity limitation.
Our team is larger than 8 people - can you accommodate us?
Yes. For teams larger than 8 we offer bespoke solutions – either running multiple cohorts or delivering the programme with additional practitioners. Please contact us to discuss the right approach for your organisation.
Where does the training take place?
Training is delivered at our trusted training studio in London, or at your premises. Our coaches can travel to any destination within Greater London as standard.
We are not based in London - can you travel to us?
Yes. Our coaches can travel anywhere in the UK – and internationally – to deliver training. Please get in touch for a quotation based on your location.
Can the training be delivered online?
Yes. We offer a fully online version of this programme for teams who need remote delivery.
How is this different from standard conflict resolution training?
Most conflict resolution training focuses on techniques and frameworks – active listening scripts, mediation models, escalation procedures. This program goes further by addressing the internal emotional and behavioral states that determine whether those techniques actually work in practice. Built on the BEAT™ framework, it develops the composure, self-awareness, and communication precision that makes the difference between a conflict conversation that resolves and one that escalates.
Is this training suitable for teams that are currently experiencing active conflict?
Yes – and in many cases these are the teams that benefit most. The pre-training consultation allows us to understand the specific dynamics at play and tailor the program accordingly. For teams in acute conflict, we recommend the 2 or 3 day program to allow sufficient time for the deeper behavioral work the situation requires.
